Boxing Coach

Reports To:  Program Coordinator
Hours: Part-time, non-exempt, approximately 15 hours per week Monday-Thursday (between 2pm-7pm).  There also needs to be some flexibility to attend some weekend events or trainings).

SUMMARY
To provide supervision and support to at-risk youth by providing them with an exercise-based pro-social activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*  Teach boxing skills, strength, conditioning, and other exercise elements in a group setting.
*  Supervise participants before, during, and after boxing sessions.
*  Transport youth to program activities as needed.
*  Assist with planning program events.
*  Role model pro-social behaviors to youth participants.
*  Serve as a mentor to the youth in the group setting.
*  Travel with and monitor youth at regional boxing competitions.
*  Supports co-workers by contributing knowledge and information to aid in solving program and agency-wide issues.
*  Resolves interpersonal and other issues that may jeopardize team success in a professional manner.
*  Respects supervisor(s) by keeping communication lines open, accepting and utilizing feedback, and observing the chain of command according to agency policy.
*  Learns, develops, and models the Positive Youth Development core competencies resulting in capacity to contribute to the mission of Haven House Services and be a resource to our youth and families, other partner organizations, and our community.
*  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience: Training and/or experience in boxing, or other sports training and one year of experience working with at-risk youth populations.

Case Manager
Salary:$30,000 full-time/non-exempt

SUMMARY

Case managers are responsible for overseeing initial and continuing client assessment, the plan for additional services, and the linkage of families to community agencies.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides case management to arrange, link and/or integrate multiple services across all levels of client and family needs.
  • Acts as an advocate for clients and families through the delivery of all program services outlined in service plans.
  • Will be responsible for the development and implementation of service plans for youth on assigned caseload.
  • Keeps accurate client records which are updated in a timely manner and comply with internal policies and procedures, as well as all regulatory guidelines.
  • Secures relevant client information through the completion of assessments and all other documentation specified in the policies and procedures. 
  • Maintains direct contact with all youth served in accordance with program guidelines and as outlined in all program agreements.
  • Serves as positive role model for youth and family, maintaining a strengths-based approach to youth work.
  • Aids youth and family in the use of appropriate problem-solving skills.
  • Share in the program’s on-call rotation schedule.
  • Supports co-workers by contributing knowledge and information to aid in solving program and agency-wide issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited institution.

Experience: Two years of related experience and/or training with at-risk youth.  Knowledge of the NC Juvenile Court System, local community resources, and experience with client documentation and file management.

  • Must utilize personal vehicle for transporting clients

Quality Assurance Specialist

SUMMARY:

Provides analytical support and recommendations to all program leaders and the Chief Executive Officer through data analysis and problem solving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In charge of implementing annual Performance and Quality Improvement plan.
  • Analyzes various data sets related to performance and quality improvement.
  • Provides research and recommendations for future performance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with annual and strategic planning.
  • Assists with determining, measuring, and reporting on program and agency-wide outcomes.
  • Facilitates and organizes the organization’s Client Rights Committee.
  • Assists with other internal committees as needed.
  • Serve as a member of the agency’s management team.
  • Researches potential grants and grant-writing.
  • Conducts literature reviews and utilize research methods to analyze data, identify initiatives, solve problems and make strategic recommendations to management team.

Transportation Support

SUMMARY

Transport Support personnel are responsible for transporting and supervising, while in transit and during snack time, school-aged youth to various Haven House Services’ programs in which they are enrolled. This is a part-time position (up to 25 hours/week) which will be scheduled during after-school hours during the weekday and occasionally on Saturdays.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transporting youth to and from Haven House Services’ programs (picking up from school and dropping off at residence) as needed
  • Supervises program youth while in transit
  • Supervises program youth during snack time
  • Serves as positive role model for youth and family
  • Completes all required trainings
  • Supports co-workers by contributing knowledge and information to aid in solving program and agency-wide issues
  • Resolves interpersonal and other issues that may jeopardize team success in a professional manner
  • Respects supervisor(s) by keeping communication lines open, accepting and utilizing feedback, and observing the chain of command according to agency policy
