Haven House Services is providing anyone with a cornhole board at home the chance to have a little fun and help youth in need in the process. We have created a virtual “Backyard Edition” of our annual spring Battle of the Bags charity cornhole tournament. The tournament is sponsored by LogMeIn.
The entry fee is a $10.00 donation per player. To participate, players simply put out one cornhole board, mark a throwing line 27 feet away, throw all four bags a total of 10 times, add their score as they go, and submit their score via the link provided. Players have from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on each game day to play their assigned match and to submit their score. An online dashboard allows players to track their tournament progress live.
Registration for Backyard Edition: Battle of the Bags is open now at www.havenhousenc.org/cornhole. Registration closes this Saturday, April 25th, at 6:00 p.m. Tournament play begins on Sunday, April 26th.
“We hope this Backyard Edition of Battle of the Bags will provide a fun, easy, and safe way for people with cornhole boards to do something good for the community during this challenging time,” said Michelle Zechmann, Chief Executive Officer of Haven House Services. “Many of the youth and families we serve were already struggling before the impact of the pandemic, and now many face additional challenges. Proceeds from this tournament will help us continue to provide the critical services they need more than ever.”
Anyone without a cornhole board can still support our efforts by making a donation at www.havenhousenc.org/cornhole. Any amount is welcome and will be put to use immediately.
We postponed our traditional Battle of the Bags cornhole tournament, originally scheduled for May 17th, 2020, at Trophy Brewing on Maywood Ave., due to the COVID-19 virus. A new date has not yet been selected.
