Summary Oversight of daily operations of the agency’s crisis and homeless shelter. This position manages all residential counselors. Full-time/exempt, $40,000 with full benefits.
|Specific position duties and responsibilities: Operations Management Oversight of daily operations to include developing and managing staff schedules, developing and implementing house activity schedules, coordination of food shopping and vehicle maintenance needs Oversees facility maintenance Ensures program compliance with all regulatory entities including, but not limited to, health and fire department regulations, licensing, accreditation and funder requirements Leads the program’s outreach strategy with targeted activities. Oversees SafePlace Leads and/or facilitates smooth shift change transition communication Provides direct supervision to and development of shelter staff. Monitors and ensures staff compliance with all record management requirements. Provides leave coverage as needed and rotates on-call responsibilities, Adheres to program budget by managing expenses and maintains accurate financial documentation, Responsible for completion of designated program reports, monitoring trends and providing Director with timely feedback Works with Director to hire and onboard qualified staff. Data entry. Manages volunteer groups, Direct Care Provides direct care as outlined in program policies and procedures, including but not limited to, responding to crisis calls, conducting initial screenings and facilitating admissions and discharges. Works with Director in reviewing crisis call data weekly, identifying and responding to trends and ensuring staff responses to caller needs are delivered in a timely manner. Oversight of the program’s meal preparation activities, working with staff to ensure that prepared meals/snacks are balanced and youth are engaged in planning/preparation Develops and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders from the systems that impact program youth Provides case management and transportation support as needed General agency duties and responsibilities: Serves as active member of the agency’s Management Team. Member of at least one agency committee and/or community meeting. Completes all required trainings. Participates in agency outreach and fundraising events. Demonstrates a willingness to assist in other agency programs as needed. Acts as a custodian and demonstrates responsible and ethical use of agency property and facilities. Displays sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Strives to embody the agency’s Code of Ethics while working towards the agency’s Mission, Learns and demonstrates Agency-wide Competencies including the areas of con.sumer and community relationships, continuous individual and agency-wide improvement, vision and purpose, respect and teamwork and positive leadership Learns, develops, and models Positive Youth Development core competencies resulting in capacity to contribute to the mission of Haven House Services and be a resource to our youth and families, other partner organizations, and our community. |Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited institution Two years of related experience working with target population or Combination of education and experience that meets position requirements will be considered Supervisory experience|
|Knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of the NC Juvenile Court System, community gang related activity, local community resources, and experience with client documentation and file management Strong written and verbal communication skills|
|Other requirements: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record Personal vehicle for use in conducting home visits and/or transporting clients in the event agency vehicles aren’t available Proof of current/valid car insurance Acceptable background report Negative drug screen results Post-offer employment physical and TB per licensing standards Post-offer employment federal and state fingerprint checks|
|Work environment: Evening and weekend hours required as needed Willingness to work holidays and during inclement weather Culture of care and wellness in the office Potential exposure to bloodborne and/or airborne pathogens|
