Michelle has been Chief Executive Officer of Haven House Services since September 2009. In this role she directs, coordinates, and manages all operational and fiscal aspects of Haven House Services.
Before joining Haven House, Michelle was the Director of Quality Management and Program Development at The Durham Center (now Alliance Health). In this role she worked with community agencies to implement best and evidence-based practices.
Michelle has more than 30 years experience working across the mental health and the criminal justice systems. She currently serves on the board, and is a former president of North Carolina’s Community Alternatives for Youth. She also served as a board member and treasurer for the Covenant with North Carolina’s Children (now NC Child). Michelle holds a BA in psychology from the University of Buffalo and a master’s in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Outside of Haven House, Michelle loves to read, hike, travel (favorite trips – Costa Rica and Spain), do puzzles, and watch British murder mysteries (yes, she is an introvert!). Her go-to take out on Friday nights is Indian food and Mediterranean food. Michelle loves spending time with her wife (who is also named Michelle) and their four children Ella, Katie, Alec and Noah. She also has two super sweet rescue dogs, Callie and Bandit.
