Summary Oversight of daily operations at the agency’s crisis and homeless shelter. | ||
Position duties and responsibilities: Coordinates referrals, admissions, discharges, and aftercare processes for youth seeking services at the shelter; · Delivers counseling services to youth in care (individual, group, family) · Schedules and completes comprehensive clinical assessments, bio psychosocial and supplemental assessments and service plans for youth in care · Leads the coordination of daily life skills group activities, working closely with Youth Care Specialists in planning, supporting implementation and evaluating effectiveness · Oversight of records management, ensuring program compliance with all related regulatory entities, to include establishing and enforcing quality standards for documentation of services with staff. · Collaborates with accounting staff in all matters that will facilitate the billing process for billable services · Works closely with the Youth Care Specialists to provide case management services to youth in care, to include but not limited to, maintaining school connections, coordinating appointments and facilitating referrals to resources and supportive services that align with recognized best practices. · Provides direct supervision to program staff including Overnight Awake Residential Counselors, and PRN staff as needed, to include ensuring supervisees complete trainings in a timely manner. · Provides clinical support, learning opportunities, and supervision for university-based interns · Provides support to the Director in the completion of reports and data management efforts · Participates in on-call rotation and provides leave coverage as needed.. · Works with the Youth Care Specialists and Director in daily program functioning, including but not limited to, administering medication in accordance with agency policies, providing transportation, meal preparation and, custodial tasks as needed · Works collaboratively with all stakeholders, ensuring youth needs are addressed and all are working to support youth’s exit to safe and stable housing at time of discharge · Provides shift change transition communication · Works with the Director to recruit, hire, and onboard high quality program staff. · Demonstrates positive leadership competencies, including building and maintaining employee relationships, fair and consistent treatment among all staff, manage effective teams and work groups, create an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration and provide a culture of support and accessibility for staff. · Develops and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders from the systems that impact our youth, to include, but not limited to referral sources, juvenile court, and regulatory agencies · Participates in community collaborations addressing youth homelessness issues. | ||
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in clinical field from an accredited institution and license eligible Two years’ experience with adolescents with mental health and substance use disorders One year of supervisory experience. Combination of education and experience that meets position requirements will be considered. | ||
Knowledge, skills and abilities: Must demonstrate strong clinical counseling and assessment skills, and experience with clinical documentation and file management. Demonstrating knowledge of the NC Juvenile Justice System, and local community resources. Strong written and verbal communication skills | ||
Other requirements: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record Personal vehicle for use in conducting home visits and/or transporting clients in the event agency vehicles aren’t available Proof of current/valid car insurance Acceptable background report Negative drug screen results | ||
